"Unfortunately due to the recent heavy rain fall, the Westmeath and District Motor Club have had to cancel this Sunday's planned National Championship Autocross Event in Kilucan. It would not be possible to offer our competitors good value on the day it the track got baldy cut up early in the event. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

Mullingar Autos support local running of National Championship Motorsport

The home of Skoda in the Midlands, Mullingar Autos are set to support the local Westmeath and District Motor Club’s round of the National Autocross Grass Championship. This event will be held in Greenhills, Killucan, Co. Westmeath on Sunday the 11th of September. It will be sign posted from the village of Killucan and from the N52 from The Cloughan Inn. The action starts at 11am and all are welcome.

The club is expecting many of this year’s 40 championship racers to compete. This event will see a wide range of cars from small light hatchbacks to high powered specially built single seater buggies compete on a grass track. This event will be an excellent opportunity for all the family to see high quality motorsport racing in a safe and convenient venue.

Grass Autocross is a relatively cheap form of high speed motorsport, with competitors running two at a time against the clock for a number of laps on a marked out track on grass. The drivers with quickest run times achieve overall and class victories and points towards the 2016 PK Doors & Windows National Grass Championship.

The Westmeath and District Motor Club are now well established in the area, they run three quality motorsport events every year and their members help organize and marshal events for many other clubs Nationwide. If you are interested in Motorsport, joining a motorsport club is a great place to start. New members are always welcome, and it’s not necessary to know a lot about club motorsport, if you have an interest in motorsport and want to get involved the club are happy to help you.
