2016 Tour of Hamsterley cancelled

"Following much debate Stockton & District Motor Club and the Organising Team for the Tour of Hamsterley Forest Rally, regret to advise that the event will not be running in 2016.

The reasons for this difficult decision are principally due to the 2015 event suffering a significant financial loss, resulting in any future plans requiring careful financial review and secondly the fact that we have been unable to secure a suitable date that avoids other more established events in the latter part of the year.

Whilst we appreciate this is disappointing for those competitors, marshals, helpers and indeed Regional Championships that have supported us over the last few years, we assure you that we hope to be back in 2017 all being well.

All is however, not lost for 2016 as we plan to resurrect the Stocktonian Rally - being run to a Targa Rally format with approximately 35 miles of Tests in a route of 120 or so miles - More details will be announced very soon once we secure all venues."
