The Co. Antrim hamlet of Cairncastle will provide the venue for the longest Hill Climb in the UK & Ireland.
Larne Motor Club will be hosting a double header weekend in the ANICC Millers Oils Hill Climb Championship on Friday 20th & Saturday 21st June 2014.
The fast flowing hill based on the Co. Antrim coast will provide the venue for rounds 5 & 6 of the championship. Current N. Ireland Hill Climb champion Graham Thompson has been the man to beat to the top over recent years and provides a fantastic battle every year.
The Hill Climb is 1.65 miles from start to finish providing fast flowing corners and tight twisting sections giving competitors an adrenalin filled drive to the top.
With the Antrim Coast and Irish Sea in the background the views from the event are breathtaking allowing all to have an enjoyable day of Motor Sport. In 2014 Larne Motor Club will be trying something to encourage new visitors to sample the best Hill Climb in UK & Ireland.
Friday’s event will start in the early afternoon, with the day’s competition reaching its climax before the sun sets. Saturday’s proceedings will be the same as every other year, practice starting for 10am and the winner being announced around 4pm.
Larne Motor Club would like to extend the range of entrants, by inviting competitors from all over Ireland and mainland GB. If you are interested and think you can conquer the hill please contact Larne Motor Club for further information. Discounted ferry crossings and accommodation can be arranged in required.
