John Kelly had a comfortable win last round with mechanical gremlins hampering others in the supercar class, the longford man was largely uncontested by the field for the day. Going into the 25th John Kelly is joined by sportchip man Grzegorz Kalinecki fresh from his victory in the UK Retro Rallycross Championship with the Ultra Quick Lancia Delta. Wexford man Andrew Morris is to return after mechanical issues prevented the newly retuned Impreza from stealing the show in mondello last day.
Men to watch in modified are Derek Tohill and Ian O’Connell, both the fiesta and lotus are equally matched and both drivers are sure to provide close fast racing. Wilie Coyne returns to defend his position in the championship from Padraig Leeson, both have been in the Championship a number of years and have provided close clean racing.
Can anyone stop Noel O’Brien ? This must be the question on each of the 8v Stockhach drivers, in the last year Noel has had a near perfect podium record, after the carnage of the last event there is no clear favorite to topple Noel going into this round, we will have to wait and see who will step up to the plate.
Speaking of stepping up to the plate, Sophie Byrne is the one to watch with her impressive performance in the last event, taking full class honors going into this weekend. The class seen a host of new faces of whom are sure to try contest the that illusive 1st place.
