iRally: the best rally App in the World – and it’s FREE

Posted: August 26, 2010 11:23 AM

iRally, the new independent, free application bringing all the latest rally news to the iPhone is celebrating a hugely successful start. iRally has delivered news and results to fans of the FIA World Rally Championship and the Intercontinental Rally Challenge since January, and has already received five-star ratings from users around the globe.

The iRally App is produced by Crown House Media, the well-known UK TV and radio agency which created, owns and operates the popular World Rally Radio internet radio station. It is supported by Ford and is available to download free of charge via iTunes at

or direct from the App Store on the iPhone by typing iRally into the Search window.

Covering both the WRC and the IRC, iRally brings news, results, images, calendars, videos and audio podcasts and World Rally Radio's coverage of the WRC and Rally Radio's broadcasts from the IRC.

Crown House Media's Greg Strange said he was delighted with the response from users since the launch of iRally.

"This is an App that is designed to appeal to passionate rally fans," he said. "It covers breaking news stories and up to the minute results from both the WRC and the IRC. We have a team of experienced rally journalists feeding stories and information directly from rallies as well as keeping abreast of all the important news off-event.

"The key to this App is its editorial independence. It is not the mouthpiece of either championship, and that allows us the freedom to cover all the stories without bias. We tackle the controversies without any 'spin', to ensure that genuine rally fans receive the truth behind the stories. And, of course, it's all free of charge," said Strange.

Gerard Quinn, Ford of Europe's motorsport chief, said:
"Ford has supported this project from the beginning. New media is hugely important to us and iRally is the perfect way to receive the latest rally news, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

"We support this venture, but we don't control it. It's essential to us that iRally retains its editorial independence because, as one of the leading manufacturers in the WRC, it's important to us that there is a news outlet of this type that presents stories in an unbiased way. We know and trust Crown House Media's team of reporters to do that," he added.
