Northeast Mini Stages Rally - 23 Aug 09
Round 4 - 2009 Midlands East Rally Championship

Event Cancelled - Statement from the NEMC Rally Organisation Committee. (Updated)

Posted: August 13, 2009 12:08 AM

"Following our rally organisation meeting on the day of the official entry closure, we find we have a total of 65 entries, which is insufficient to run an economically viable event.

Regretfully therefore we have no option but to cancel the event.

We would point out to all competitors that if we were to start 100 cars our payment to Motorsport Ireland would be 22,858 euro and still incur a loss of over 20,000 euro.

For any club this is unsustainable.

We apologise to all would be entrants and trust we will receive your support in the future.

Naturally all entries received will be re-imbursed in full."
