Austin McHale/Bryan Murphy won out in an exciting days rallying at the new Limerick Race Course
Watched by a very large crowd under blue skies,
McHale was fastest on the first of four timed runs of the 3.1 mile course.
McKinstry drew level on the second run, both crews tied on the third stage, with McHale putting in the best time of the day of 3.19 after McKinstry got a puncture on the last run. Second fastest time on the last stage secured third place for Frank Meagher.
