Oliver Stanley from Durrow, Co. Laois in the Perry Motors Ford KA scored his first victory in the 1999 KA Rally Championship on the Cork ’20 Rally. Posted: October 4, 1999 11:01 PM
While the Championship battle raged on Oliver moved into a commanding lead on day one of Round 7 despite the bad weather conditions. It was a lead he was never to relinquish despite slowing down on day two. Oliver has consistently improved all year setting very fast times on the last two Championship events. “I am delighted with my first victory, it was a very tough event and the competition has been very close all year” said Stanley. He finished in fourth place overall in the Championship standings.
