2004 Circuit of Ireland Retrospective Trial
8th - 10th October 2004
LISBURN - WESTPORT

Regulations now available
This year will see the 18th Circuit of Ireland Retrospective Trial which will broadly follow the lines of the successful and well received 2000 event based in Westport, Co Mayo. The main difference is the start venue which will be in the City of Lisburn, thanks to the hospitality and help offered by Lisburn City Council who have kindly granted the U.A.C. the use of their Lagan Valley LeisurePlex for the pre-event formalities.

The southern base is again in Westport but this year the rally headquarters will be in the excellent four star Hotel Westport which stands in its own delightful surroundings and offers a host of facilities.

Another innovation will be the introduction of combined Map/Roadbooks which will enable competitors to carry all the event information in one cover – Colour Maps, Roadbook, Test diagrams, etc. Naturally details of secret routes and tests will be issued separately.

The organising committee’s aim is to provide an enjoyable and competitive event with the usual mixture of navigation/regularity sections and autotests over some of the classic roads used by the “Circuit” in the Fifties and Sixties taking competitors through quite memorable settings. A visit to an ancient castle is promised.

Of course, as always, the emphasis will be on enjoyment both on and off the road and to this end the traditional celebration dinner will be incorporated in the Sunday night prize-giving festivities. It has even been known for the winning car to make an appearance at the prize-giving!

Closing date for entries is Friday 10 September and it is hoped this year will attract a record number of competitors.
