Over 25 Peugeot crews descended on Wales last Saturday to compete in the Swansea Bay Rally. The crew only had two weeks since round two to convert their cars from tarmac spec to gravel for this 65 mile event, which was run deep in the Welsh forests.

Rory Galligan and his mechanics worked tirelessly over the short two week gap in order to have the 106 rebuilt in time for the event, following his unfortunate accident on the Rallye Charlemagne.

Rory began the five stage rally cautiously knowing how dangerous the Welsh gravel stages can be. He established a pace and swopped times with the other top Peugeot competitors throughout the day. Knowing it was vital that he finish the event and score some valuable points Rory controlled his pace and finished the rally in 4th position. The talented young Kris Meeke won the event with Michael Faulkner and Ryan Champion finishing 2nd and 3rd on exactly the same time.

However Rory did not escape his bad luck entirely when his return ferry suffered mechanical failure half way across the Irish sea!
