05/07/07Pistonheads: The Performance Car Show to run alongside AutosportInternational
Performance car fans are getting ready for a
mammoth event, after one of the automotive
industry's biggest online communities,
Pistonheads.com, announced plans to stage the
ultimate supercar show.
Rare and exotic sports cars will be in abundance at
the Pistonheads Show, which will run parallel to
Autosport International, the world's biggest
motorsport show, at the National Exhibition Centre
(NEC), Birmingham next January.
"This is just what our on-line audience have been
after," said Pistonheads.com Brand Manager, Paul
Garlick.
"We will not only be showcasing some of the most
glamorous cars in the world, but also providing a
live version of our classified section, with visitors
able to view the best performance cars that are in
the market from our registered users."
This will be the first-ever Pistonheads - The
Performance Car Show and more than 25,000
sports car fans are expected to attend for features
including a concept car gallery, supercar paddock,
track day cars, performance tuned cars and car
market.
"The performance motoring enthusiast has been
looking for a quality platform on which to see the
latest cars and products that are available in one
place at the same time," said Managing Director
for Haymarket Exhibitions, Gavin Brown.
"This show will bring together a brilliant array of
exhibitors and attractions that I'm sure will make
the show the new annual focus of a fast growing
market."
The Pistonheads Show is an extension of the web
magazine Pistonheads.com, which is one of the
world's biggest online communities in the
automotive sector with 1.1million unique users.
The Pistonheads community is a very affluent
group, who count their primary interest as
ownership and enjoyment of prestigious sports
cars such as Porsche, Aston Martin, Ferrari,
Maserati, Lamborghini, Marcos, Noble, TVR, Lotus
and Caterham, as well as high-performance
versions of cars such as Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW,
Honda, Renault, Mercedes, Mitsubishi, Subaru and
