Following the sad and sudden death last year of Nick Brittan, founder of Trans World Events, Rally Manager Ron Jackson and Route Co-ordinator Mike Summerfield have formed a new company, Trans World Motorsports Ltd, to carry on the organisation of marathon rallies and will be running their first event in September 2008.

The Trans Europe Rally, organised in conjunction
with TWE competitor Jiri Kotek and his colleagues in
the Czech Republic, promises to be one of the great
marathon rallies. Starting in Monte Carlo on 13
September 2008 and finishing 20 days later in
Helsinki, Finland, the route of about 7,000 kms -
with over 1,000 kms of special stages - takes you
through France, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic,
Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
There are plans to use some of the past and
present stages from the World Rally Championship.
The Trans Europe Rally will have categories for
pre-71, pre-78 and pre-84 classic cars and for
modern cars (under 2 litre, 2wd, no forced
induction) prepared to FIA Group N specifications.
Each category will compete for its own overall and
class awards.
The Challenge will be a separate regularity
competition in three classes: classics up to 1983,
modern 4wd SUVs and other suitable 2wds.
Entries opened on 7 May 2007 and Regulations,
Entry Forms and other details are available on the
website at www.twmrally.co.uk, or by contacting the
Rally Office (email: office@twmrally.co.uk or
tel: +44 1670 738048).
Best known for its London-Sydney Marathon, Trans
World Events ran its first event in 1993, when Nick
Brittan organised the London-Sydney Marathon to
commemorate the original 1968 event.
