Preview
The countdown is now on to the Midland Single stage rally which will be run on the 10th June with its headquarters in Cooneys Hotel, Ballymahon, Co. Longford. The event has attracted a big entry of over 180 with only 130 allowed to start. There is a quality top ten with Pat Donegan from Navan taking the number one spot in his immaculate Mk II Escort. Pat was 2nd in the Castle Single stage last year and previously won the Carrick on Suir single stage and will definitely be the man to beat on the day. Next up is Thomas McGovern from Cavan with brother Kevin navigating also in a Mk II Escort. 3rd seed is Mickey Curran and Mark McNally from Oldcastle who should be up there in contention at the end of the day.

We are therefore in for a great day of sideways action from the top three competitors. In 4th seeded place is local pairing of Pat & Liam Higgins from Granard who will be competing in their Honda Civic and have put in some very fast times todate in this particular car having finished 13th overall in the recent Moto stages rally in Roscommon, beating some very quick four wheel drive machinery in the process.

Scrutiny takes place in Finnegans Garage, Main st. Ballymahon between 4 and 8 pm. On the 10th June the cars will be flagged away from Cooneys Hotel at 10.00am. The 1st car is due back at Rally HQ at approx 4.15pm.

Full details on stage location, starting times and competitor entry list will be included in the official colour programme which will be available in Longford, Ballymore, Glasson, Moyvore, Carrickboy and local shops in Ballymahon and also in the HQ, Cooney’s Hotel from Friday evening the 8th June.

Marshals are still required and the chief marshal can be contacted this week after 7pm on 086 3114366.
Marshals meeting point on Sunday morning at the Gala Shop on Main St. Ballymahon at 8am sharp.

The launch of the Cooneys Hotel Single stage rally will be held on Thursday 17th May at 7.30 at Cooneys Hotel, Ballymahon, Co Longford with a selection of rally cars on show on the night.

Meanwhile entries are still coming in with over 80 received to-date, so don't be late and get that entry in!

Midland Motor Club are pleased to announce details of their upcoming Restricted Single Stage rally to be held on the 10th June 2007 in Ballymahon, Co Longford. The main sponsors of the event are Cooneys Hotel and Finnegans Subaru Garage, Ballymahon.

The sponsors together with Sean Cahill, Clerk of the course are delight to bring this event to Ballymahon.

The event will consist of a single stage repeated 3 times with service interval after each stage. Starters will be limited to 130.

Regulations for this event are now available for this event and further information can be obtained from rally Secretary on (043) 47819 between 7pm and 9pm.
