The 2007 1000 Shakes Night Navigation Trial took place last Saturday night (20th January.)
HQ for the Cork Motor Club run event was Coolcower House near Macroom and 34 crews tackled the event in the traditional Coolea,Mullaghanish,Ballymakeera area covering 130 miles.
Problems arose as early as time point 3 for some of the crews and time point 11,near Carriganimma, caused major confusion with 14 crews missing the location.
The tricky course set by C.O.C. Niall Murphy also had most of the crews in trouble at Time Points south of Coolea.
Overall winning crew of the event was Andy Mackerel/Liam Higgins who had 3 points to spare over Tadhg O Shea/Kieran Daly.Ger O Connell/Denis O Donovan were third overall.
The win in Cork means Mackerel/Higgins stay on top of the National Navigation Championship and O'Shea/Daly leading the Munster Championship.
