This event is organized by the members of Limerick Motor Club to promote Motor Sport in the Mid West Region. One of the best known names in Irish Motor Sport the legendary Billy Coleman who was a former British Rally Champion will make a guest appearance at the show. Billy will be chatting with some old friends and making some new ones on the day.
Bruff’s Greg Shinnors Irelands Top Navigator who is currently a works driver for Mitsubishi UK will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about getting started in any of the Motor Sport disciplines that Limerick Motor Club members take part in.
The club has a long History dating back to 1948 when it ran its first Motor Sport event, a hill climb on Gallows Hill in May of 1948. We know that Stan Russell was one of the competitors at that first event. Stan was one of the founding members and he has served the club in so many capacities over the last 58 years without interruption.
Also in 1948 the Limerick Motor Club ran a number of sealed speedometer tests, a motorcycle grass track event at Thomond Park now the home of Munster Rugby, a treasure hunt, a night navigation trial and the Strand Races on Lahinch Beach.
At present the Limerick Motor Club hosts the Circuit of Munster Rally held on the June Bank Holiday Weekend every year. Marshals from the club travel to the four corners of Ireland helping other Clubs in the running of their Motorsport events.
There will be lots to do and see including Trade stands and many old and new cars on Exhibtion. So if you feel you would like to get involved in Limerick Motor Club or just want to come and see the many Cars on display this invitation is opened to you and anyone with a passion for Cars and Admission is Free.
