FORDE TAKES WIN ON CMC CHRISTMAS AUTOCROSS
The Cork Motor Club annual Christmas Autocross took place on the 27th of December in Campbells Quarry, just outside the picturesque town of Clonakilty in West Cork. 47 entrants took the start and it was a marvelous way of shaking off the excesses of the Christmas Dinner and the plumb pudding.

The weather gods shone on the event with absolutely ideal conditions bringing the spectators out in force, which added to the atmosphere of the great days motor sport organised by C.O.C. Paul Casey and his team.

Paul had spent a number of days in the quarry prior to the event and ALL the competitors were delighted with the smooth and flowing course he set out for them.

In spite of the relatively short hours of daylight all the competitors were given 4 timed runs, the first of which started at 11.00 am, and everyone was ready to pack up by 4.30pm.

There was an abundance of people to help out with marshaling, timekeeping etc and C.O.C Paul Casey extends his thanks to everyone who helped out on the day. He also had a special word of thanks to the owners of Campbells Quarry for allowing the club to use it once again this year.

Prize giving was in the Quality Hotel and Leisure Centre, which is also headquarters for the West Cork Rally.

The event was the final round of the Maxsport Tyres Munster Autocross Championship and also a round of the Cork Motor Club Championship.
