They were four marks ahead of the Vectra of defending double champions Andy Mackarel and Liam Higgins, with Trevor Farrell and Noel Hall third in their Proton. Halfway leaders Ashley McAdoo and Adam Murray slipped to fourth at the finish, easily taking the semi-experts class from Fintan Larmer and Sean McCaffrey, who were twelfth overall.
Vectra mounted Colin Deering and Sean Craig were best of the novices, narrowly beating the similar car of Janice Mackarel and Colin Brady, while Darren Babington and Francis Keenan won the Beginners' class, which covered the first half of the route.
