Irish 205 Challenge Crosses The Water
Following a six-week break the Irish 205 Challenge steps into gear this weekend when it moves to round 3, the Mid Wales Stages Rally, on Sunday 26th June.
The gravel rally consists of 45 stages miles run in the classic rally territory of Hafren and Sweet Lamb. The Irish crews are also been given the opportunity to test themselves against the British 205 Challenge on this event.
Championship sponsor and Mitsubishi works driver, Rory Galligan will accompany the crews to the rally. “The Mid Wales Stages Rally is a great event for the Irish 205 Challenge to compete in,” commented Rory, “it gives the crews a fantastic opportunity to compete on some of the worlds best gravel stages and is an excellent training ground for young drivers.”
Despite being round 3 of the championship, this is only the second time that crew will be able to score points as due to unforeseen circumstances the Irish 205 Challenge organising committee were forced to make round 2 of the championship a non scoring event. Following discussion with competitors it was agreed that the championship would now be decided based on the best 4 scores from 5 events.
