FINAL ROUND - 2004 V MAC SILOS/MCAREE ENGINEERING CHAMPIONSHIP

In the closest finish imaginable, the top five in Sunday’s Cavan MC Autocross at Latton were all covered by less than a fifth of a second, with Robert Moffett’s Escort fitted with Metro 6R4 engine and transmission just overcoming its 5% handicap for 4wd to beat Joseph Smith’s Escort by one hundredth for top place.

The Nova of Pat Higgins, Kieran McCarra’s Civic and Ashley McAdoo in another Nova were the other contenders, but a class win for Ronnie Coulter’s Astra was enough to clinch the V Mac Silos/McAree Engineering Championship for the third time.
