Boland goes back to Ford?

The latest news to reach rally.ie is of Wexford Businessman Eamonn Boland moving back to Ford, with the purchase of JJ Fleming's ex-Works Ford Focus WRC.
Boland last drove a Focus in 2000 on the Rally of the Lakes.

Boland is expected to use the car on the Galway Summer rally at the end of August.

Fleming's plans are unclear, business commitments curtailing his outings in recent times. He also has an entry in for the Galway Summer Rally, which is one of his home rallies.

Eamonn Boland last drove a Focus on the 2000 Rally of the Lakes - He retired on Day one and ran as "0" car on day 2.

The car is the special issue one built to celebrate MSports 50th WRC produced, hence the carbon black rear spoiler, it is running under the private Ford plate RS 50th.

Galway's JJ Fleming has tested and bought a new Right hand drive Ford Focus WRC from MSport for the 2005 Rally Season

JJ will contest the National Championship next year as well as selected International events, with Robbie Ward to co-drive. An overseas event is also being looked at.
