Magherafelt & District Motor Club are to hold the Banagher Rally Time Trial on Saturday 28th August. With a full entry 60 cars, of which over half the field are Mk 2 Escorts a spectacular days motoring is in prospect.

2003 winners Glen Allen and Paul Barrett are back to defend their crowns, indeed Paul is back trying to make it three in a row for fastest 2-wheel drive. His main opposition comprises of Camillus Bradley, Andy Magee and Conor Kelly in his 1600 Nissan to name but a few.

4-wheel drive opposition to Glen will come from a host of potent local talent. Seamus Donnelly, Stephen Moore, Sean Devine, Derek Mc Geehan and Brian Muldoon are just some of the competitors entered in class 7.

Due to resurfacing after the Tour Of The Sperrins the event is being run in the opposite direction to the two previous years. Because of recent deforestation an excellent ½ mile of spectator viewing is available within easy reach of the paddock. “The Banagher Bowl”

Spectators are encouraged to partake of the free park and ride facility adjacent to Banagher forest as parking on the roadside will not be allowed.

The Mountview Restaurant is again be the venue for the prize-giving bar-be-que and the fun evening for all the family, comprising of a wide range of attractions that will keep young and old amused.

The first practice run will commence at 10.30 am in Banagher forest so get there early for what promises to be an exciting days rallying.

Magherafelt & District Motor Club are once again running the ever popular Banagher Rally Time Trial, on Saturday 28th August. The event, now in its’ third year is increasing in popularity with both drivers and spectators alike. Demand for regulations are at a very high level, so it might be wise to get you’re entry in early. The maximum entry is 60 cars of which 20 can be dual entries.

The club are delighted to welcome back as sponsors for the 2004 event, Outdoor Services Magherafelt, and The MountView Restaurant Derrynoid.

Outdoor Services are a civil engineering and groundworks company formed in 1998 by brothers Martin and Noel Downey, with the company providing a highly skilled workforce to carry out all groundworks and civil engineering contracts, ranging from earthmoving, kerbing, paving, drainage and concrete floors.

The Mountview Restaurant situated in the picturesque surrounding of the Rural College Derrynoid, provide a wide range of meals and snacks to cater for all tastes. The Mountview Restaurant will once again be the venue for the prize-giving bar-be-que and the fun evening for all the family. Face painting, trampolines etc clowns are just some of the attractions that will keep young and old amused.

Due to road regrading after the Tour Of The Sperrins, the uphill section used last year has been rested for this year with the result that all the competitive mileage will all run alongside the fast and flowing Glendra River, one practice run and 3 timed runs are planned, 4 if time permits. Entry fee for the event has been held at £115 to include an SVS tape and a bar-be-que at the prize-giving.
