The 23-year-old, driving a Davy Geer Motorsport and
Brendan Kelly backed Mitsubishi Evo VI, beat over
thirty Groups N cars to win his class and battled
against some of the top WRC and Group A cars to finish
in 2nd position.
On the opening stage Shaun had to adjust to a new car,
new co-driver and new pacenotes. This was also his
first time to drive such a car on gravel.
Once adjusted to the car Shaun took the lead and held
this until the final stage where he lost out to the
Group A cars due to lack of power when accelerating
out of the stages four chicanes.
'I am thrilled with the results, this was my first
Group N victory and finishing 2nd overall topped off
the event. It's a great end to a great season,'
commented Shaun.
