Ian in the Autopoint Ford Ka overcame some late technical difficulties when he had to borrow fellow KA competitor Trevor Hutton's engine and gearbox to compete on the event. Despite burning the midnight oil to get his KA ready in time, Ian settled into the event setting second fastest times on the opening loop of stages. On the next loop Ian started to reel in leader Kenneth Mulvaney setting three fastest stage times in the process. Over the last four stages Chadwick set another two fastest stage times and despite a late charge from Kenneth Mulvaney held off the Sligoman by a narrow margin of nine seconds after over 80 competitive miles. 'I am delighted to win here today, it was a really hard battle after the disappointment of the last round of the series in Cork I was determined to win and to prove my capabilities. I have to thank Trevor Hutton for giving me a loan of his engine to get me out of trouble and allow me to compete here today' said Ian.

Kenneth Mulvaney (Sligo) narrowly missed out on his first victory of the season but second place now moves him into a secure second place overall in the championship. Keith Lyons (Limerick) secured his best ever finish to take third position after setting two fastest stage times. The final round of the series sees the Ka army travel to the Cork 20 International Rally on the 4th & 5th of October.
