The first speaker on the night was Dr. Padhraig Connealy, who gave a very practical insight into the medical necessity attached to each item of safety equipment in use in Motorsport today. This was followed by a short video presentation covering all aspects of emergency first aid in the event of an accident on a Stage Rally.
Our second guest speaker was Robert Lydel, who is the Motorsport Ireland Event Safety Officer. Robert gave a very informative presentation on the procedure involved in setting up an event and the duties of Marshals and Organising Officials.
Due to the unavoidable absence of Noel Clarke, Philip Johnston of Pit Lane Motorsport Merchandising gave a presentation outlining the various updated technical requirements regarding Safety equipment for the coming year.
Martin McKenna, Chairman of the Motorsport Ireland Rallies Committee, followed by refreshments, brought the night to a close with a speech emphasising the need for competitors to look after one another on events and ensure that Motorsport endures into the future as safely as possible.
