MAJOR BOOST FOR GALLAGHER

Fresh from winning the 2002 Billy Coleman Award Shaun Gallagher received two major boosts in the space of just two weeks. Firstly he was given the chance to test a Ford Puma Super 1600. This was a steep learning curve for Shaun, as it was the first time he had ever driven left-hand drive or used a sequential gearbox. Just a week later the 22-year old enjoyed a day testing a Davy Greer Motorsport Corolla WRC in Nutts Corner.

ommenting recently Shaun said: "We have just finished a fantastic season finishing second in the Peugeot 206 Super Cup and it was all topped off by winning the Motorsport Ireland Billy Coleman Award. Thankfully, this good fortune continued and I was given some excellent opportunities recently. I was over the moon when I got the chance to test the Ford Puma and it was a great privilege to drive a Ford works rally car. Then I got to drive the Corolla WRC and it was unlike anything I have ever driven before. Davy Greer was a great help to me as he explained all about the settings of a World Rally Car. Hopefully next season will start off as this one finished."
