Fresh from winning the 2002 Billy Coleman Award Shaun
Gallagher received two major boosts in the space of
just two weeks. Firstly he was given the chance to
test a Ford Puma Super 1600. This was a steep learning
curve for Shaun, as it was the first time he had ever
driven left-hand drive or used a sequential gearbox.
Just a week later the 22-year old enjoyed a day
testing a Davy Greer Motorsport Corolla WRC in Nutts
Corner.

ommenting recently Shaun said: "We have just finished a fantastic season finishing second in the Peugeot 206 Super Cup and it was all topped off by winning the Motorsport Ireland Billy Coleman Award. Thankfully, this good fortune continued and I was given some excellent opportunities recently. I was over the moon when I got the chance to test the Ford Puma and it was a great privilege to drive a Ford works rally car. Then I got to drive the Corolla WRC and it was unlike anything I have ever driven before. Davy Greer was a great help to me as he explained all about the settings of a World Rally Car. Hopefully next season will start off as this one finished."
