Final round of the
2002 Peugeot 206 Super Cup, the South of England
Tempest Rally.
Victory for Shaun Gallagher on the final round of the
Peugeot 206 Super Cup rounded off a fantastic season
for the young Letterkenny driver. Shaun is the only
driver to have scored on every round of the
championship and in the process scored one third
place, three second places and two wins, finishing the
championship second overall

The Michelin South of England Tempest Rally moved the series back to gravel and Shaun began the event cautiously knowing that one slip on the loose surface could lose him the event. He took the lead on stage 2 and this is where he remained for the next two days. Following on from his faultless victory on Rallye Le Touquet Shaun drove yet another outstanding event, maintaining his lead over his rivals at a consistent and steady margin.
During Leg two Shaun chose to raise the ride height of the car as the re-use of the stages had made them very rough and with a comfortable lead there was no need to take any unnecessary chances.
Shaun finished a worthy 24 seconds ahead of Chris Moore and over a minute in front of new 206 Super Cup Champion Gary Jennings.
This win tops off a hugely successful season and Shaun would like to thank all his sponsor^Òs, supporters and friends.
