Seamus steers Seamless Aluminium machine to Manx.
The Seamless Aluminium Subaru Impreza GpN heads for the Isle of Man this
week for the 5th round of the Tarmac Championship, the Manx International
Rally. The driver Seamus Leonard is full of confidence that he will have
a change of fortune in his Tarmac Championship campaign, where he
currently lies fourth in GpN in the Ballyshannon company Seamless
Aluminium backed machine.

"Although I haven't competed on the Isle of Man before, the roads look similar in places to the Jim Clark territory, and in other place just like Ireland" reports Seamus from his Omagh base. "The Subaru has been back to Prodrive for a technical check, and the engineers there have discovered that the engine is well down on turbo boost and power. Maybe that explains why I have been driving my guts out and not getting anywhere fast!"
The Manx Rally starts this Thursday evening at 18.30 from Castletown and there are 24 special stages before the TT Grandstand finish at Douglas on Saturday afternoon. Seamus' main Tarmac Championship opposition includes Trevor Cathers, also from Omagh, as well as Roy White (Tipperary) and Donie O'Sullivan (Killarney).รก Andrew Nesbitt, the current champion, heads the overall bid for Tarmac Championship honours on the rally, which is also a round of the British Championship. Seamus Leonard is seeded at 24 and has Kevin O'Brien co-driving.
