It is with regret that due to the on going foot and mouth situation, Killarney and District Motor Club have decided not to run the Hillclimb weekend, 13th & 14th of October and the Killarney Historic Stages Rally on the 2nd December. The unanimous decision was taken at the August monthly club meeting held on the 7th of August.

"In the running of our events the club depend on the good will of the farming community and it is in their interest that we offer our support at this worrying time", said Club Chairman Jimmy Devane. "The rally has traditionally gone through the heart of sheep farming areas and this was the main reason for taking the decision."
Clerk of the Course for the Killarney Historic Stages Rally Gary McCormick added, “We have been following the foot and mouth crisis since the beginning and in the current situation it is best to cancel for this year.”
