Birr and District Forestry Rally Cancelled

Following the comments made by Tom Parlon , Chairman of the IFA to the
respective media , Birr and District Auto Club following a meeting last night
unanimously decided to cancel their Forestry Rally of 30th September.

The club felt it inappropiate to run the event due to the concerns raised by the farming community , our own club members and the fact that the National Ploughing Championship , which was to take place 12 miles from Templemore the following Tuesday has also being cancelled .
The Club would like to thank all our sponsors , competitors and residents for their patience and help and we look forward to meeting you in 2002.
