Links2001 TOSHIBA IRISH TARMAC RALLY CHAMPIONSHIPS CANCELLED

The cancellation of the Ulster rally has resulted in the first four rounds of
the 2001 Toshiba Computers Irish Tarmac Rally Championship being lost from
the original intended programme of events.
In view of this it has been decided with the agreement of Toshiba that this
years Championship should now be cancelled.

"This decision was taken with a great deal of regret but it was inevitable in light of the continuing threat to the countryside from foot and mouth disease. All of our efforts are now focused on the 2002 championship" stated TROA Chairman Tom Walsh.
Any remaining rounds of the championship which may run will run as individual events without Tarmac Championship status concluded Championship Manager Don Wilmont.
