Following the announcement by the Ulster Automobile Club that the
Circuit of Ireland Rally has been postponed until later in the season, the
Tarmac Rally Organisers Association Chairman, Tom Walsh, issued the following
statement.

"Chris Beck the Clerk of the Course and his team have been working very hard over the past number of months to deliver a revamped Circuit of Ireland Rally, using a new 3 day format and a new centrally based venue in Enniskillen. In light of all this hard work I am disappointed that the event has had to be postponed because of the restrictions placed on it by the current Foot and Mouth outbreak.
However, it is the view of TROA that rallying in Ireland relies very heavily on the support and co-operation of the rural community and that in the present circumstances TROA fully supports the decision taken by the event organisers."
