STATEMENT FROM KERRY MOTOR CLUB

In View of the current Foot and Mouth Scare the Organising Committee of the Circuit of Kerry Stages Rally have decided to postpone the Circuit of Kerry Stages Rally, due to take place in the Dingle Area on Sunday 8th April. Motorsport Ireland (the governing body of motorsport in Ireland) have suspended all motorsport events until April 5th, the situation will be reviewed on a weekly basis thereafter. A Decision was taken on Saturday March 3rd by Kerry Motor Club to suspend all activity in the Club until this difficult time has passed. The AGM scheduled for Wednesday March 7th has also been postponed.

We recognise the devastating consequences that the spread of this dreadful disease could cause to the farming community in Kerry and as a sporting organisation who depend on the goodwill of the general public, landowners and stage residents we see it as our duty to help in the prevention of the spread of this disease. Once the present situation is stabilised we look forward to continuing that good relationship with the people of West Kerry and hope that once the current crisis is over the event can be rescheduled.
