1999 Super 106 Cup Champion Mark Fisher comes one step closer to the first of his dream drives in the Peugeot 206 World Rally car, as he travels to Spain with Peugeot Sport UK^Òs Motorsport Manager Mick Linford, to meet the team at the Catalunya Rally next week.

Mark and co-driver Gordon Noble, who won the biggest prize ever offered in British Rallying - two full works drives with the Peugeot World Rally team - by taking the Super 106 Cup title in its inaugural year, have been eagerly awaiting this opportunity as the reality of getting behind the wheel becomes ever closer.

Mark has already shown his maturity and ability to adapt from the Group A 1600cc two wheel drive Peugeot 106 Cup car, to the awesome power of a four wheel drive world rally car, with his impressive finish of 17th overall in the 1999 Rally of Great Britain.

"I'm thrilled at this opportunity to meet the team and gain first hand experience of the whole WRC set-up, whilst the pressure is off" remarked Fisher. He continued "It seems such a long time since I was crowned Champion back in October, and now the reality and enormity of the prize is beginning to set in. Naturally I would prefer to be behind the wheel than watching, however the experience will be tremendous and it will give me the opportunity to watch my French counterpart and learn from his experiences before the spotlight is turned on me".

Linford remarked on the trip "I know Mark has been waiting for this for a long time and is eager for the process to begin that will put him behind the wheel at Acropolis Rally. I have no doubt that Mark will make the most of this opportunity across all areas, in readiness for the start of his testing programme that is due to begin in early May".

Meet the Team Catalunya Rally: March 31st, April 1st & 2nd
First Drive Acropolis Rally June 9th - 11th
Second Drive Rally of Great Britain November 24th - 26th
