Skibbereen 100 Isles Navigation Trial - 12-13 Feb '00

They dropped just three minutes on the 120 mile route based in Drimoleague, Co. Cork. The Cork crew were followed home "Bones" O'Connor / Paul Phelan (Impreza). This result sees the reigning champions move one step closer to retaining their title. The championship rivals were in an event of their own on the night being some 40 minutes ahead of the chasing pack.

Once again the West Cork rivers played their part when Expert crew Pete Willoughby / Greg Shinnors (Kadett) got stuck in a ford. A tractor was enlisted to bring the crew back to dry land. The continued but with a considerable time loss to eventually finish ninth.

Best Beginners on the night were Diarmuid French / Jason O'Mahony who brought their Starlet home in 7th place overall and beating a number of more fancied crews.

Mervyn Dunn / Vincent Fagan saw their title aspirations all but evaporate when they retired at half way with diff problems. Following their excellent result in Sligo recently Ger Gowen / Diarmuid O'Donovan (Starlet) were disappointed to retire early in the first half when the fuel pump failed.

Next round is the Cavan MC "Breffni" Navigation Trial on 4/5th March.
