George Tracey scored his third Mondello Park win within two months when his Metro 6R4 led all through the Carlow Christmas Rallysprint, although the Impreza WRCof Kevin Barrett gave him a close battle all the way and was only 1.7 seconds slower when the three runs were added together.

Former Dunlop Hillclimb champion Michael Roche was in a class of his own in Carrick-on-Suir MC's out of season Sprint at the Pink Rock, near New Ross on Sunday. His GM engined Delta T81 set the pace on the first run and he remained unchallenged all day, holding a clear 2.7s margin over Peter Dwyer's Ford powered T85 after five attempts at the short course. David James' quick rally Escort was best of the saloons in fourth overall, but he was pushed hard by the Sunny F2 of Andrew Purcell which was only 0.13s down at the end.

The CarSport Rally Sprint, held at the Belfast Sportscar Show is really hotting up. The Sportscar Show runs from 30th Jan - 1st Feb 2004, at the Kings Hall & Showground, Belfast. 2wd'd will compete for a handful of places for the Sunday, to run against twenty WRC & GPA cars on Sunday 1st Feb.

Brian Murphy made one of his occasional outings as a driver and once again came out the overall winner of Carlow Car Club’s Rallysprint at Mondello Park at the wheel of his Subaru Impreza. Murphy, more often Austin McHale’s co-driver in International rallies, took the lead on the second of three runs, with the best single time of the day, and held his advantage through the final run.

Paddy's Day Sprint in Tynagh

A rare sunny day in Tynagh saw the Carlow MC run an excellent sprint. The event brought out a big entry and all classes were well represented. Many people were using the event to shake down cars for the coming season and also some were using the event to try out cars that had been bought for this season.
