Darragh McGreal 2002 – 2007

It is with regret that Mayo & District Motorsport Club advise the passing of Darragh McGreal.
Darragh was the only child of James and Margaret McGreal of Foxford, Co. Mayo, well known competitors and long time active members of Mayo & District Motorsport Club.
Darragh had undergone many health problems in recent months, and while he had been making good progress, he sadly suffered complications on Wednesday night and lost his battle to live.  


Reposing at family home in Craggagh, Foxford until 12 noon on Saturday 1 st September. Funeral in Church of Ireland, Foxford at 2pm followed by burial at Craggagh Cemetery.
Family flowers only, donations if desired to Our Ladies Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, care of Clarke's Funeral Services, Chapel Road, Foxford.

The Motor Sports Association – governing body of UK motor sport – has advised clubs and competitors to continue as normal while this weekend’s outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease is investigated.

WRC on RTE Petition

As you are aware Ireland is hosting a round of the World Rally Championship in November this year and Irish motorsport fans, old and new, are taking an increasing interest in the 2007 WRC championship. Those fans that do not have access to satalite broadcasting are relying on RTE broadcasting reports of each round, for which we are most grateful. Unfortunately these reports are aired 3 days after the conclusion of the event and at an extremely un-socialable hour very early on Wednesday morning.

RICHARD BURNS

"It is with very great sadness that we must announce the death of Richard Burns, the 2001 FIA World Rally Champion. Burns, who was diagnosed with an astrocytoma, a form of brain tumour, in November 2003 passed away last night Friday 25th November peacefully. His partner Zoe, family and close friends were at his bedside."
