John Naylor, from Carnew, Co. Wicklow, has been elected chairman of Motorsport Ireland, the governing body for Motorsport in Ireland. He succeeds Cecil Sparks in this position as head of the Motor Sport Commission.

The Carlow Motor club Rally Sprint took place at the Mondello Race Course on the 28th of December 2003.
