The Motor Sports Association – governing body of UK motor sport – has advised clubs and competitors to continue as normal while this weekend’s outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease is investigated.

Colin Hilton, MSA Chief Executive, said:
“We are monitoring the situation carefully and liaising closely with the authorities. Our people are well versed in our contingency plans and these are all in place should they become necessary. In 2001 we were able to react extremely quickly, implementing exclusion zones for non-fixed venues, but at this stage we very much hope that the outbreak is not going to spread. At present, there is no reason to suggest that any motor sport event should be adversely affected.”
