Interest in rallying has never been higher as Ireland prepares for the countries first World Championship round – Rally Ireland, and the RPM programmes, which carry all the Global Group Irish Tarmac Championship rounds, are getting unprecedented attention as many of the Works Rally Teams drop in to the Tarmac events to `taste the terrain`, before the November event. “Already we have see the Works Ford Team in Galway with twice World Rally Champion Marcus Gronholm, additional International entries on the UAC Easter Stages Rally, and Donegal is bracing itself in June for the possibility of welcoming two Works Teams. Our sixteen-year coverage of the Irish international scene has alerted the world to the quality of the competition and organization of rallying in this country, and now we are reaping the rewards of global interest in our programmes.” Recounts Alan Tyndall, RPM’s Executive Producer.
