Following on from the successful launch of the CITROEN SPORT C2 R2 @ Charles Hurst Citroen on Wednesday evening, Kris Meeke gave the C2-R2 and his Super 1600 car a run during a test session on Thursday.

PRE EVENT NEWS OFFICIAL CITROEN SPORT C2 R2 LAUNCH WITH WORLD RALLY STAR KRIS MEEKE- A NIGHT TO REMEMBER AT CHARLES HURST BELFAST Following the exciting announcement that Junior World Rally Championship star Kris Meeke, will compete on the Ulster Rally in his works Citroen C2 Super 1600, Citroen Sport in conjunction with Charles Hurst Citroen, Boucher Road, Belfast, are staging a rally night with a difference. On Wednesday 30th August at 7pm, not only can you meet Kris, and his co driver Glenn Patterson, who have recently won the Junior World Rally Championship round in Germany, but also the PH Sport team with the exciting latest Citroen C2 Super 1600. The French engineers will be on hand to answer questions and queries about this very top piece of Junior WRC kit, but also in kit form is the new Citroen Sport C2 R2. This 185 horse power machine is a smaller cousin of the Super 1600 car at a fraction of the cost. With a 5 speed sequential gearbox, adjustable suspension, a full Citroen Sport bodyshell, with weld in cage and all the safety fittings such as seats and belts in this kit, it is a superb 1600cc homologated rally car, almost Super 1600 specification but at a fraction of the price. With a one make series for these cars possibly in the offing, the C2 R2 kit would be an ideal car for the aspiring rally driver, or indeed a competitive class car in any regional rally championship. Charles Hurst Citroen have been appointed as official agents to distribute the kits and a kit will be on show in its full entirety on the night, along with Citroen Sport’s fully assembled version. The men who designed and built it in the Versailles Citroen Sport factory will also be there to give you an insight into its workings. With refreshments on site, entertainment and the chance to see Citroen Sport’s entourage up close before the Ulster Rally it’s an evening not to miss. And you could win the unique chance to sit beside, one of our top rally drivers, Kris Meeke in the exciting Citroen C2 R2 in a private test session the following day. This truly one off prize is just one of the many attractions at Charles Hurst Citroen, Boucher Road- Belfast, on Wednesday 30th August from 7pm. Anybody is welcome to attend, and with no admission charge, it’s a superb free chance to meet Ireland’s big hope for the WRC and the Citroen Sport team. Whilst the team of new Citroen road car models will also be on display, including the Citroen C2 VTS road car, the basis for the C2 R2 and C2 Super 1600.
