Billy Coleman enters SCAFFTEX Scaffolding Stages Rally
Legendary Cork man Billy Coleman has entered the first Rally to be run by the newly formed London Irish Motor Club. The SCAFFTEX Scaffolding Stages rally takes place on September 3rd at the Longcross Test track near Chertsey, Surrey.

Billy has agreed to drive the ex-Russell Brookes Andrews Heat for Hire Talbot Sunbeam Lotus that is now owned by John Leahy. This is a major coup for the club and they are delighted that with Johns help they can now have the honour of having Billy at Number 1 seed on their first rally as a Motor Club. Also entered is Billys son Gordon who will bring his Ford Fiesta ST Gp N to the event fresh from his 5th overall in the Fiesta Challenge at the recent Jim Clark Rally.

Other notable entries include Ed Synan who recently won the Achill Stages Rally and will make his way over from Limerick to compete in his Ford Escort. Donegal will be well represented with confirmed entries from Pete Green and PJ Bonner who will both drive Escorts not to mention James Sweeney, Danny O Donnell, Patrick Boyle and Brendan Gallagher who will all bring their Toyota Corollas across the Irish Sea to compete with Club member Paul Mc Devitt sure to give them a run for their money in his Corolla as well

Club entries have come from John Reddington in his Ford Escort, Gerry Moroney in his Subaru WRC, Gavin Edmiston in his Vauxhall, Geoffrey Dolan in his Sunbeam ( and is event sponsor) and Ollie O Donovan who has yet to confirm what car he will be driving. There are also entries for Barry Cromack and David Edmunds from Craven Motor Club along with Stuart and Theresa Fossey and Warren Till from Dolphin Motor Club.

Although there are no spectators allowed at the venue, it is still possible to attend by Marshalling at the event and the club will happily welcome all those who wish to do so. Contact details can be found at the clubs website on www.londonirishmotorclub.com or by phoning the Club on 07809 429868.
Entries are still available for the Scafftex Stages at Longcross on the 3rd September.
The Club are pleased that there are a number of Irish entrants coming over All entrants will be entered in a draw for a free entry to an Irish tarmac rally Drawn on the day.
