Round 9 & 10 - 2005 Biotech National Autocross Championship

Midland MC hosted the above event in Ballinahown, Co Westmeath with 49 cars competing on Saturday and 62 cars on Sunday. The event was run in brilliant weather which meant a big turn out. It was a round of the BIO TECH Waste Water treatment Motorsport Ireland National Autocross Championship.

Saturday results saw John Cavanagh win the overall event driving a Special. Best saloon car on the day went to Ger Brennan in his Fiesta. Class winners were: Class 1A : Tommy Donlon, Class 2A: Pat Driver, Class 2B: David Fitzimons, Class 3A: Ger Brennan, Class 3B Frank Farry, Class 4A: David Fallon, Class 4B: William Kavanagh, Class 5: Owen Kelly. Declan Magee in a Peugeot 206 received the best Novice award.

Sunday results saw William Cavanagh win the overall and Ger Brennan again best saloon car winner. Class winners were as follows: Class 1A: Frank O’Connor in a Mini, Class 2A: Seanie Kelly in a Nova, Class 2B: David Fitzimons in an Escort, Class 3A: John Kelly in a Peugeot 205, Class 3C: Tom McDermott in a Peugeot 205, Class 4A: John Cavanagh in a Special, Class 4B: Billy Cavanagh in a Special. Ladies award went to Dorothy Cavanagh in a Special with Ivor Trimble in a Nova winning the best Midland MC club award. Novice award went to Sean Brady in a Civic.

Eoin Longworth was pleased with the great turn out and thanked all the club officials for their assistance together with Donie Lucey who was official time keeper.
