Details below 29/06/05 Classic Stages for new look Mini Stages Rally format The Northeast Motorsports Club will present the new look Mini Stages Rally format, on the 31st of July, and is solely dedicated to those who have not yet stepped up to the World Rally Car class. The event brings a new look with the possibility of a Group A, a Group N or Two wheel drive rally car in with a shout of winning. The club could not of-course run such an event without the financial backing from their sponsors, KN Networks and the Grove Hotel. Building on the experience of the previous years single stages event, the club has been pleased to accept and promote the new look Mini Stages Rally event format. The rally format of 2 stages ran twice, stage one 10.5 mile and stage two 8 miles in length. The added advantage to this year’s event is the stage reconnaissance available on the day previous to the rally. The Clerk of Course, Shane Briscoe has chosen some classic stage miles, with stage 1 ‘BlackHall’ quoted to be one of most favorite stages from the Circuit of Ireland’s of past. Some of the facts and history of the ‘BlackHall’ stage included, Eamonn Boland’s double crash in the C.O.I. ’98, where he firstly hit a wall on a square left and then fell into a 10ft ditch, crawled out and drove through the stage to complete it with a half right front wheel, no bumpers and no wings. More history on the stage, the late Henri Toivonen was seen in 1984, lying on the road with his co-driver ‘Juha Piironen’ walking on his back at 5.30am on an Easter Sunday morning before starting the stage. The Club will also be most appreciative of the surrounding club’s help and experience, and ensure that the day is both enjoyable and very safe. 18/06/05 This years event covers 2 stages ran twice, with HQ in the Grove Hotel, Dunleer, Co. Louth. Total stage miles of rally is 40. This event is open to all class of cars except WRC's. Entry forms and Regulations are now available for the KN Networks Northeast Mini-Stages Rally on 31st of July 2005. If you require a set by post: please text name and address to 086-0576142. 11/05/05 The headquarters will be at the Grove Hotel in Dunleer as per last year. The event has a new sponsor in KN Networks who in conjunction with The Grove have generously agreed to be the primary sponsors.
