Rallying 4 Charity campaign takes on Navan’s Best.Posted: August 17, 2004 10:37 PM - 3740 Hits
Michael Cooper Rallying 4 Charity campaign takes on Navan’s best in Aer Lingus Stages Rally this coming weekend. Although good buddies most days, Michael & James will take the gloves off this time to fight for Group N honours. Posted: August 17, 2004 10:37 PM
Aer Lingus will be running their annual Stages Rally in the Cormeen & Moynalty area on Sunday 22nd August, allowing the production Saloon boys to go head to head. Louth versus Meath it certainly will be. Foley, just back from the Isle of Man “Manx” says the quickest man will win. Cooper advises him, that to finish First, First Foley will have to finish.
Update With your kind encouragement and generosity, and your willingness to donate per event, we have managed to raise much needed funds for “Temple Street Children’s Hospital”. Unfortunately, due to the serious over-subscriptions in rallying this year, and in recent years, the “Rally 4 Charity” car never managed to get running in Monaghan and Cavan. However, we did take part in Midland, Carlow and Raven’s Rock. And we’re off again, this time to Tipperary to participate in “Stonethrowers Rally” on August 8th. Thereafter, we’ll be heading to the wilds of Co. Meath to compete in “ALMC Multi-Stage Rally” on August 22nd 2004. At this point in time we have donated €9,550.00 to Temple Street Children’s Hospital. The funds raised by your big-heartedness are going towards the redevelopment of the Tertiary Kidney Care Unit in Temple Street. This unit provides care for children from all over the country, with a variety of kidney conditions including those waiting for transplantation or the long term care required after transplantation. This unit also provides all forms of dialysis and is the National Centre for haemodialysis. The children of Temple Street applaud you and your selflessness…………….. With further pledges still to be received over the next couple of months we really hope that we can do a “little bit more” for these cherished children. A Big Thank You…….. 14/06/04 Rally for Charity visits Waterford to compete & collect for Temple Street Rally for Charity visits Waterford “On Target to Reach Our Goal of €15,000” In the winter months of 2002, Rally 4 Charity was set up to raise funds for Temple Street Children’s Hospital and other Charities. Michael Cooper (driver), Martin Brady (navigator) and Sean Walsh (a man with connections!) found a way to pay for the newly acquired GrpN Subaru Impreza, the name of the game, take part in Rallies & raise much-needed funds for the Kidney Unit of Temple Street University Hospital. Cooper was to fund and run the Scooby entirely from his own resources. Funds raised from Donations would go directly to the Hospital. 2004 comes around quite quickly. January this year and a few ALMC members offered to get involved in the fund raising. The plan is to take part in 6 or 7 events, loosely organised around the ALMC Bonus Scheme events. Letters have been written, pledges have been very gratefully received, but more are needed. €4100 has been collected to date, with thanks to the Midland MOTO Rally and the Carlow Stages Rally. A further €3000 has been collected since the Carlow Rally. So here we go again, Ravens’ Rock Rally is our third event, this time with ALMC COC Ian O’ Flynn navigating(?) God help us!
