Hectic Schedule for Keenan!

The weekend of 25th-27th of March saw Irish driver Dessie Keenan take on three events over one weekend in his new Peugeot 206. The first event over the weekend for the Irish driver was the first half of the 206 SuperCup Gateshead rally held on Friday night the 25th. Conditions were very challenging with dense fog and rain to contend with, however this did not prevent Dessie finishing a super 4th overall on his first event of the weekend.

Saturday the 26th saw the second half of the 206 SuperCup rally take place in conjunction with the Pirelli International Rally. Dessie kept a steady pace throughout the day, stage by stage his times were improving as he became more confidant within his left hand drive Peugeot against the tough competition. This steady pace resulted in a satisfying 9th overall.

Travelling through Saturday night, the team reached Dessies hometown of Monaghan, Ireland at 5.00 am. The 206 suspension settings were changed from gravel to tarmac and the car was ready to race Sunday morning in the Monaghan Stages Rally. A clear sunny day interrupted with heavy rain showers left conditions unpredictable. After nine fast tarmac stages, tired yet exuberant Dessie crossed the finish line to finish 24th overall with a class win by over 3 minutes!
