Posted: February 17, 2003 9:35 PM Seeded at No.30 they didn’t take long to gel together and were on the pace from the word go setting very competitive times on the first group of three stages arriving into service a credible 10th O/A. Another loop of two stages before the second service saw them beat the bogey time on stage 5 and climb further up the leader board to 8th O/A . With the three morning stages to be repeated again before the finish in Pickering town centre Gordys plan was to play safe and get to the finish giving Garry as much first time experience as possible of the Yorkshire forests which will be used later in the season as part of the BRC. Everything went to plan and they arrived back in Pickering finishing their first event together 1st in class 1st 2wd car and a fine 8thO/A. Garry will travel back to England on Fri next for his first gravel test in the Peugeot 206S1600 works car and back home for the first round of the Southern Forestry Championship on Sun. based in Carrick on Suir.
