YOUNG DRIVER AWARDS TO BE ANNOUNCED MONDAY 2nd DECEMBER

Date Set for Motorsport's "Awards for Excellence"

The third annual Alfa Romeo / Motorsport Ireland "Awards for Excellence" in Irish motorsport will be presented in the Conrad Hotel, Dublin on Monday 2nd December this year. These Awards have been created to recognise the achievements of drivers across the spectrum of Irish Motorsport both at home and abroad.

The centrepiece of this year's event will be the presentation of awards to the "Young Racing Driver of the Year" and the "Young Rally Driver of the Year". Each award will also carry with it a package worth E32,000 to the winning driver.

The Young Driver of the Year will also receive the Dunlop Sexton Trophy and a weeks coaching in the US while the Young Rally Driver of the Year will receive the Billy Coleman Award and coaching in Europe.

The seven awards that will be presented on 30th November are:
  • Junior Kart Champion
  • Irish Kart Champion
  • Dunlop National Rally Champions
  • Young Racing Driver of the Year
  • International Driver of the Year
  • Young Rally Driver of the Year
  • Hall of Fame Award
