Motorsport Ireland received a number of representations from both competitors and sponsors concerning the proposals from the TROA. Whilst the Rallies Committee acknowledge and understand the concerns of all interested parties, the decision in this instance is a matter for the TROA alone. Motorsport Ireland’s role is to ensure that the Toshiba Computers Irish Tarmac Rally Championship is organised in accordance with the championship regulations, Appendix "A" of the Motorsport Ireland Yearbook and the FIA Sporting Code.

The Rallies Committee are in this instance satisfied that the changes proposed are in accordance with the regulations and they intend to bring forward this recommendation to the Motor Sport Commission.

However, the organisers of the Manx Trophy, in conjunction with the TROA will be required to obtain the permission of the Motor Sports Association (MSA), to include a round of the Toshiba Computers Irish Tarmac Rally Championship in the Manx Trophy, which is promoted under a permit issued by the Motor Sports Association.

The Rallies Committee also considered a request from the TROA for a change to the regulations of the Toshiba Computers Irish Historic Rally Championship to allow the Killarney Historic Rally on the 3rd December 2000 to be included as a counting round of the championship. The Rallies Committee again are satisfied that the changes proposed by the TROA are in accordance with the regulations and they intend to bring forward this recommendation to the Motor Sport Commission.

The recommendations of the Rallies Committee will be considered by the Motor Sport Commission at its meeting on the 20th July 2000.
