15/12/07 Regulations and entry forms are now available to download for the CMC Rallysprint in The Pike, Dungarvan on Dec 30th. This smooth tarmac venue is set to be the scene of a great day‚s motorsport for all to enjoy. A large interest has already been generated in the event with 40 entries being received to date. Last year‚s winner Jason Ryan is set to defend his title and will be hard to topple judging on last year‚s stunning performance. Billy Coleman award winner Keith Cronin is set to compete along with his uncle Denis Cronin. Denis has yet to confirm what car he will use but the famous ex works BMW M3 is looking like the firm favourite at the moment. The battle of the day may come from a more unsuspecting source however. The Cork Motor Club Driver‚s Championship currently has a tie for overall honours between club members Victor Beamish and Billy Tobin. As the rallysprint is the final round of the championship, the gloves are sure to be off as the title goes down to the wire. Victor will compete in his trusty Vauxhall Nova while Billy is set to have the bit between his teeth in the Stiletto. Competitors are urged to send their entries as soon as possible to avoid the rush. Entries are limited to 80 competitors with double driving and navigators also allowed. NOTE TO COMPETITORS WITH SINGLE SEATERS AND AUTOCROSS SPECIALS: Due to unforeseen circumstances it will not now be possible to allow any single seater cars or autocross specials to compete on this event. Unfortunately, year book prescribed rallysprint classes and insurance restrictions prohibit such cars from competing on an event of this type. The organisers would like to apologise to any competitors with such competition cars for any inconvenience caused.
