Report The Club ran its annual Rally in Loughgall Country Park on the 7 July. This is the 7th year of the event run over 7 special stages on 100% tarmac roads within the grounds of the country park and restricted to 90 two wheel drive Rally Cars. Two weeks before the entries closed we had received over 130 entries, this goes to show how popular the event has become. It turned out a dry day which brought out the spectators in large numbers and they where not disappointed as the action got under way at 9.30am. The First Stage saw Martin Teggart No 5 and Adrain Hetherington No 7 tie on 4 mins 13.9 seconds with Mervyn Wedlock No 4 3rd on 4.15.3. Martin Teggart ( Ford Escort Mk2) was to lead the Rally right up to the last stage when he lost 9 seconds with a spin giving the win to Adrain Hetherington( Ford Escort MK2) from Dungannon. 3rd Mervyn Wedlock, 4th Stephen Nevin and 5th Norman Armstrong. Class winners where Garth Sayers, Nova Class1, Brian Black, Starlet Class 2, Gary Sheridan, Nova Class 3, Davy Graham Citreon C2 Class 4, Stephen Nevin, MK2 Class 5, and Martin Teggart Class 6, Mk2 Escort Class 6. Thanks go to Rainbow Telecom and Armagh City and District Council for their Sponsorship, Sonya Mac from Cool Fm for promoting the event (who also finished 4th in her Class).
